Carlos A. Coriano's career
spans over 15 years experience in the professional field of marketing. His areas of expertise
include: integrated direct marketing strategy development and execution, business
strategy, customer acquisition and retention, branding and positioning, direct
and interactive marketing, database management, database marketing, online marketing,
call center management and operations, customer service, sales, and customer relationship management.
As an Independent Marketing Consultant, Carlos provides integrated direct marketing expertise to an exclusive selection of hospitality clients including Island Outpost - a collection of boutique hotels in Jamaica created by Chris Blackwell, founder
of Island Records, which launched the legendary career of Reggae icon
Bob Marley. The boutique hotel collection comprises Strawberry Hill, The Caves, Jake's, Geejam and GoldenEye - the former home of Ian Fleming, where he wrote his 13 most famous spy novels. For Andria Mitsakos Public Relations, Carlos has offered integrated direct marketing consulting to the agency's exclusive hospitality clientele including Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino and Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort & Casino
in St. Maarten, The Maho Group, and Marley Resort & Spa in The Bahamas.
Previously, Carlos served as Senior Marketing Consultant with Madigan Pratt & Associates, an integrated customer relationship marketing consulting firm based in Connecticut. He was responsible for providing integrated marketing development and execution to luxury hospitality clients including
The Reefs in Bermuda, 9 Beaches in Bermuda, Nisbet Plantation Beach
Club in Nevis and Casa del Mar Beach, Golf & Spa Resort in Cabo San
Lucas, Mexico.
Prior to joining MP&A, Carlos served as a Marketing Analyst for New York-based hospitality and travel consulting firm Kasel Luxury Marketing Group, headed by renowned luxury marketing executive, Erica S. Kasel, former vice president of marketing for the Leading Hotels of the World. At Kasel Luxury Marketing Group, Carlos collaborated in the research, development and implementation of an electronic customer relationship management (eCRM) web site analysis tool for luxury hospitality clients including the Leading Hotels of the World.
Carlos began his career at Virgin Atlantic Airways North American Call Center where he held several management positions including call center operations, resources planning and management and collaborated in implementing a business process reengineering methodology to improve the efficiency in call center statistics management and reporting process. Carlos was also responsible
for developing and implementing a quality-monitoring and incentive
program, and developing newly hired and quality service training
programs.
In the research arena, Carlos destination marketing research credits include UK-based market analyst, Mintel International Group and eReview of Tourism Research
published by the Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA). For
Mintel, Carlos co-authored a destination report on the Turks and Caicos
Islands which was published in the September 2004 issue entitled "Emerging Destinations - International." For TTRA, Carlos authored an
article titled "Sustaining Competitive Advantage: The Case of Puerto
Rico" published in the April 2005 issue of eReview of Tourism Research.
Carlos holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing with a concentration in direct and interactive marketing from New York University. He was the recipient of the prestigious Richard V. Benson Memorial Scholarship
awarded to entering students who demonstrate the highest potential for
leadership in the field of direct and interactive marketing.
Carlos also earned a Master of Science in Tourism and Travel Management with a concentration in customer relationship management (CRM) from New York University's prestigious Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management.
Carlos is a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA), the Direct Marketing Club of New York (DMCNY), and the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI). He is bilingual in English and Spanish. |
